Interoception is often called our hidden 8th sense. It tells us about what’s going on inside our bodies – from needing the toilet to knowing when we are hungry or full up.

It also helps us detect our emotions and only by doing this can we start to self-regulate and manage our own mental health. If you have pupils who don’t seem to recognise their body’s needs, including their emotions, then this is for you. Learn how to identify where your students struggle and implement practical strategies you can use with individual pupils or with the whole class to help develop this vital skill.
